Process

This idea came after my wife and I realized we had trouble picking food on the weekends. We needed a way to agree together and quickly. What better way then letting those options come to us and we simply swipe to decide. Since my wife is a full stack developer, I tackled this project as if she were going to build it to completion. This meant thinking like a product owner. What the fastest and easiest way to develop the app? What design system can she utilize so she won't have to create components? What systems allow for modern UI and the freedom of customization? How can this app be better than it's competitors?

We found that we can utilize Trip Advisors content API for restaurant information. I decided to use Prime React UI design system due to its modern UI components, ease of use and flexibility. I then created wireframes of the app to test the flow and ease of onboarding. Next, I branded the apps identity. This included logo, typeface, colors and even a mascot. Finally I created the hi fidelity screens including animation and prototyping. The design process took around two weeks.

I look forward to seeing this project in the app stores one day!
